Making a Brand New Website – Step by Step

A lot of people want to know how to make a brand new website, and with good reason. More and more people are going online. They are shopping online, looking for services, wanting information about thousands of different subjects. Whether you are just starting out in a business, or have an existing one, getting on the internet will give you access to millions of new potential customers. There are some that may not be interested in setting up a site to sell a product or service, they may just want to write a blog or be able to share their thoughts, recipes, etc, with other people.

The problem is that not everyone knows how to make a brand new website . It’s okay, you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to figure it out. However there are some things you need to know, no matter what kind of website you are trying to set up. There is no way to go through each step in great detail, there just isn’t enough room to include everything here. This is just an overview, something everyone can use, but we will include a resource to help you at the end.

Before getting into details about how to make a brand new website, there is one important word that will be invaluable to you. That word is RESEARCH. Always, no matter what type of website you want to start, what domain name you will be using, free or paid web hosting , etc, make sure you take the time to research each one. What the costs are, what they are offering, the benefits of using one over another, costs, site maintenance, and of course customer service. Customer service is going to be important, because if you have a problem of any kind, you want to be able to get a hold of someone right away, day or night, weekends or holidays.

The first place to start is obtaining a web domain. This is the address where your website will be located. This isn’t the website itself, that has to be created. You can buy a domain name from a number of online companies, there is a yearly fee, and it should be less than five dollars. You should also make sure that you get your domain name from a reputable company like GoDaddy or something similar.

The next step if finding a web host. Just like the domain name is the address of your website, a web host is the company that has the best access to the internet, where your website will be located, similar to renting or leasing the actual building you are going to be operating your site from. A web host offers many advantages over trying to use you own computer to get your website out there on the internet. For one, a good web host can offer a number of helpful services, like advertising your site, keeping up regular maintenance on your website, allowing you to receive money, and help you with website rankings. This is where you website is located on a search engine. The better the rankings the higher on search engines you will be.

Then you need to get your website up and going. This is where the real work begins, because this is the meat and potatoes of your site. This includes but is not limited to different pages and how they are set up, where your products and services are presented, backgrounds, prices, and of course how your customers are going to pay. This can be a very complicated process for the beginner, and can be time consuming. Depending on your knowledge of websites and how complicated your site is, this can take several months. Once you have put your website together, then you need to test it, by going on different web browsers, using their search engines, and finding your site. You also need to go to it from the outside, to see how well your website flows, so you can adjust accordingly.

This is just a small idea of how to make a brand new website. Good luck.
